There are many, many children who struggle with reading. We have years of experience finding books and children's literature especially for them, too. For your reluctant reader, we will be looking for fascinating books with alternative formats intended to tempt the reader into checking out a book just because it is so cool! The idea is to be interested in a book without realizing you're reading it, and then suddenly, you're reading it! The presentation of a Stuart Brent Children's Book Club book also helps. The books come in the mail (VERY fun for children who don't usually get much in the mail), beautifully gift wrapped and personalized with the reader's name and accompanied by a copy of The Book Club Gazette, our monthly newsletter. There is something about receiving a book in the mail that sets it apart from books taken from the library or purchased in a bookstore. We also nearly always send hardcover books, reinforcing the idea that books are to be treasured.
